Brief and answer: Using Dave Noonan’s Hobgoblin illustration assets when at Vital Marketing, design branding for high resolution vinyls to fit into a physical 3D space, make it an engaging experience for Hobgoblin’s Bring Taste to the Nation campaign to tour key UK cities Feb-Mar 2014. Taking bird’s-eye-view bus plans, we really pushed customisation beyond in order to create a wooded immersive environment inside the van, we ‘brought Wychwood’ to the UK, using the leafy visuals and stock imagery I sourced especially to fit the van’s spec, this required very large files and lots of mock up visuals. Working with Kimberley Owen, we definitely pushed the boat out to get the original blue van interior completely and seamlessly covered over – which worked really well with Dave Noonan’s exterior van branding. I initiated ‘The Manor’ sign, inside this smaller second room was the video booth with a backdrop where people can have fun and record their tasting notes on the beer. The project also saw me extend the branding to a Hobgoblin pint voucher for local participating venues as seen here. This was a massively enjoyable project, the opportunity to work in 3D vinyl visuals and to work with Kim to work out all the measuring logistics and make the most of the opportunity to create an experience.
